Old Fashioned Smoked Ham (10 lbs, Bone-in/Skin-on)

We have a special family recipe that calls for a bone-in, rind-on ham. They are increasingly harder to find. I’m so glad that I found Sam’s Butcher Shop because the ham arrived on time and was absolutely delicious. We made crackling with the rind and our rub was the perfect complement to the ham. My only regret is that I only bought a half of a ham and not the full size. No leftovers except for the bone, which I’ll happily use in a bean soup!

For 35 years, I’ve been buying hams from all over the country. I had some great hams. This one is right up at the top. We had friends for dinner and all of us loved it. Smoky, salty and moist but not too smoky or salty. It was perfect. It’s very hard to find a ham with the skin on these days. I really love this ham and will be buying it for many years to come.

First and foremost it arrived in a timely manner. The taste of the ham was delicious and the skin was just the way I like it. We can't wait to use the hambone in a pot of beans!

I have ordered from all of the artisan ham suppliers, they are virtually all too salty, too funky, etc. Sam's hams are like a fine cut of roasted pork with a smoky exterior, not too salty so the flavor of the meat is there. Don't hesitate !
